Building Success
Leadpoint recruited Terri for the Workforce Coordinator position. She learned a lot in this role and was excited when an Onsite Manager position opened nearby. She applied and got the job.
Terri hasn’t always worked in fast-paced environments or outside the home. For many years, she was a stay-at-home mom. After a divorce, she entered the workforce. “Now that I have discovered I can accomplish things I never thought I could, I want to take it and run with it. I don’t want to be dependent on anyone. I have two kids – they are the reason I work so hard,” she reflected.
Terri describes her leadership style as hands-on and relaxed. “I have a great team. I trust my employees and focus on communication. I’ve found that if people are communicating, there are very few problems. I try not to step in unless needed.”
As Terri builds her team, she values Leadpoint’s commitment to second chance hiring. “My background was rough. I like that we offer opportunities for people and create an environment where everyone can thrive,” she said.
“My advice for people starting a career in our industry is to stick it out and stick with it. Hold on for the ride. It will pay off in the end.” Terri also recommends finding a mentor to help you learn.
As for her career, Terri shared, “I don’t know where it’s going to take me, but I hope to keep learning and take advantage of any opportunities that come my way. I am very thankful for the opportunity with Leadpoint, and I am eager to learn as much as I can from it.”
