A Welcomed Change
Peter was looking for a change when he came across Leadpoint. He started as a sorter and quickly progressed to running the baler. After briefly leaving the company, he came back to Leadpoint as a shift manager. When the onsite manager role opened, he agreed to fill in and never left.
“It’s a challenging role. I enjoy working with the customer and my team,” Peter shared. “As a manager, I ask my employees to be communicative and safe. I’d describe myself as laid-back, straightforward, and honest. I am more apt to listen than to scold and always try to be fair,” he continued.
Peter credits support from co-workers, managers, and colleagues to his longevity with the company and success in the role, saying, “Everyone at Leadpoint and our customer is supportive and helpful. Having that support keeps me going. I pride myself on learning something new and doing a better job every day. Like everyone else, I am capable of self-improvement.”
Peter is initially from Canada. His family moved to Spokane, and he’s stayed there for much of his adult life. He enjoys working at a site close to his family. When not at the MRF, Peter enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and being with family and friends.
