The Manufacturing Technical Writer works as part of a team to develop and maintain work instructions to achieve manufacturing and quality objectives. Activities include creating and maintaining training records for all production control, creation and updating of instructions as well as scheduling and performing follow-up training as procedures change. Schedule: Monday thru Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm
The Manufacturing Technical Writer will contribute to continual improvement activities by ensuring that production control personnel adhere to work instructions and become more proficient at their jobs through continuous training. Interaction with manufacturing personnel, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, and manufacturing supervision are required. The Manufacturing Technical Writer must possess the technical and communication skills necessary to develop detailed work instructions and transfer the intent of the work instructions to production control personnel.
Duties:

Manage the development and implementation of new work instructions

Ensure that direct labor employees are provided with accurate and effective work instructions and other documentation critical to their jobs

Use of Master Control to track training records
-
Incorporate Lean methodologies into work instructions
-
Perform on the job training as needed (OJT)
-
Perform recurrent training as needed
-
Assist with development of training classes as needed
-
Maintain Training metrics for record retention
