COVID-19 MRF update:  Take care of those who take care of you.

A recent Gallup poll found that just 45% – fewer than half – of employees “strongly agree” that their organizations care about their well-being.

In these unprecedented times, all leaders must do what they can to add value to their employees and teammates. That’s what we aim to do at Leadpoint. We’re sharing three of our best ideas for how to show caring and concern at any site. We’re all in this together.

1 – On Day One of the crisis, we adjusted our attendance policy to the crisis needs. The message we wanted to send to our employees is this: we care about you so much that if you are uncomfortable coming to work because of the coronavirus, it’s ok. No penalties, no repercussions. Your Safety and the safety of your family are most important to us.

2 – For many years, all Leadpoint employees have earned Sick Pay Benefits. This isn’t a policy instituted when the pandemic broke out. It’s been part of how we do business for many years. At the few sites that temporarily closed for cleaning or retooling because of COVID-19, or for those employees who didn’t feel well enough to work, this practice provided real benefits and security.  It’s one we will continue to offer throughout the crisis and beyond.

3 – To support employees, maintain social distancing, and support local restaurants and servers, we provide lunch to each site as often as we can as a thank you and a safety measure. We’ve also adjusted break and meal periods so both times are staggered. Along with these processes and the addition of space to take breaks at an appropriate distance wherever possible, we’ve helped to reduce anxiety for our employees.

A small investment into each employee’s quality of life in the tough times will pay huge dividends in loyalty, teamwork and job performance tomorrow.
